Sean Sonnenburg is a cinematographer based in New York City whose work centers on documentary, commercial, and narrative storytelling.

He began filming political documentaries in Washington, D.C., before shooting his first feature in Vietnam, A Bond Unbroken: The Way of Minh (Amazon). His work often brings him into intimate, character-driven environments across domestic and international productions.

Sean has collaborated with National Geographic, Discovery ID, MTV, Smithsonian, and others. His projects have been recognized by the Telly Awards, Jackson Wild, Nitehawk Shorts, and the Sundance Creative Producing Lab.

He brings a grounded, cinematic approach to real-world storytelling, with an emphasis on atmosphere, texture, and lived experience.
